Please help me (stoichiometry)?
Calculate the heat involved with 144 g H2O in the following reaction:
SiCl4 + 2H2O → SiO2 + 2HCl+ 67.3 kJ.

The equation is not balanced. It should be SiCl4 + 2H2O → SiO2 + 4HCl
Anyway, that will not affect the answer as we are only involved with mass of H2O and heat involved
moles of H2O consumed = (144 g) / (18 g/mol) = 8 mol
Heat generated = (estimated heat production from reaction / moles of H2O involved from reaction) x actual mol of H2O consumed
Heat generated = (67.3 kJ / 2 mol) x 8 mol = 269 kJ
