The Schumacher version took the world of Batman and really expanded it, into a more detailed world of darkness, challenged concepts and colour, and generally widened the net of what was possible. Nolan's Batman was lauded for its 'gritty realism,' yet it too had flashes of theatrical flair - the Batmobile flying on a rooftop, for instance - and was a whole lot darker in tone. I do love The Tumbler, though.
