frequency is the inverse of the number of events per unit time F=1/T.

If the frequency is 100 per second, then the time of each event is 1/100 of a second. If the time of the event is 1/100 of a second, you will see 100 events per second.

In general frequency = k / period.

If you use the units of seconds and the frequency in Hertz then the constant becomes one.

so f ( Hz) = 1/ T ( seconds).

Just remember that frequencies also include things like rpm. or angular frequencies or x times per day

They are all frequencies using different units.
