Do people's writing abilities disappear in online chats?

do smart people just let go of good grammar, etc. ? can a smart person have poor grammar?

    A smart person can even be completely illiterate. I have known some elderly people who never had the opportunity to get any formal education at all, but for that very reason they have had to develop a great practical intelligence and an excellent memory.

    Not generally, no. Writing well is an indicator of thinking clearly. People accustomed to doing that don't usually just suddenly stop,

    Of course smart people can type with bad grammar. It's not like they're a certified smart person and they'll lose their license if they type poorly.
