Is it Ok that the US Taxpayers in 2017 paid almost 400 million to cure dermatitis and minor skin irritation problems in Medicare?

And Mylan Pharmaceuticals (remember Epipen) reaped the benefits.

This is what Medicare paid for Doxepin Cream in 2017 which cost 1500 a tube.

Update:

The other medications for this problem cost around $10 a tube.

The problem is having us all hostage to private companies. Medicare prices would be far lower if we had universal healthcare with the right to bargain with drug companies, which Trump promised to do but then refused after a closed door meeting with big pharma.

jakemcclake, there are conditions for which OTC treatments don't work. Only prescription drugs are strong enough for some conditions. Maybe you should just take aspirin the next time the doctor prescribes fentanyl.

Medicare is a totally unconstitutional program that needs to be eliminated. Disagree? Cite ANY mention of "health care" of ANY kind in the Constitution. BETCHA CAN'T!! No, the "general welfare clause" does NOT cover it unless you've read Federalist Paper 41 and can cite where, in the "enumerated powers clause", you find it mentioned. BETCHA CAN'T!! Thumbs down with no explanation only prove ignorance.

I didn't know there were any "dermatitis and minor skin irritation problems in Medicare". I thought all of its problems were political.

No. We seriously need to regulate drug prices. But curing that stuff is important.

Dermatitis is not a minor problem for a lot of people. The itching can drive you crazy, and keep you from sleeping. Sleep deprivation should not be taken lightly.
