How would anybody really know what America is?
...unless they experience facing death and looking into the eyes of their fellow Americans..and seeing in their eyes the fear of death combined with the grit and determination that only comes from growing up in this country.
You would know then that you will die alone as a free individual, while simultaneously feeling the arms of your country wrap around you.

Rubbish. One of my great grandfathers was born in Lithuania and arrived in 1859. By 1860 he was fighting to preserve the Union from the treason of men who had been born here. The oppressed and struggling to be free KNOW what America is, which is why they CHOOSE to come here.
It is the native born generations of today that fail to appreciate what America really is.
