Can you help me with English please?

There is no historical record of an Englishman ever living that was not wonderful.

1. What does "record" mean in this case?

2. What does "ever" mean in this case?

Thank you!

"Record" in this case means history or background. "Ever" in this case means that there are a bunch of Englishmen who lived, but this one out of all of them does this. "Ever" just implies one out of many.

Why don’t you use dictionary.com instead of looking like a dipshit every time you ask a stupid question.
