Can the flu cause just muscle pain and stiffness and fatigue without feeling feverish or in any other way sick...?

....I woke up yesterday feeling fine but as the day progressed my legs and arms and neck became painful and stiff, and I began to feel very tired. I took some Nyquil last night, slept well, but awoke still having painful muscles and being unusually tired. I don't feel feverish, or have congestion, or have that usual blah feeling I get when I'm sick. Could this still just be a cold or the flu?

I’ve never had the flu without fever, but that sounds like the way I feel when I’m dehydrated or have an infection somewhere.
