Apple earbud question?

So yesterday at McDondals my left headphone landed in a pile of mcchicken sauce :( lol sounds funny but it sucks because now the headphone sounds weird, like it’s lower than the other one and sounds clogged. The headphones are also only 1 month old and really don’t want to take the money to get new ones. This happened yesterday and it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions or am I out of luck?

You can remove the cover. Apple sells replacement covers, but you won’t need a replacement. You’ll need to pull the top off (the part that goes in your ear — with the holes in it) and clean it. CAREFULLY. Then put the cap back on. Don’t dislodge any wires, just the removable top piece.
