Nothing. If you get "critical illness life insurance" then you do not have coverage for "any illness or injury". You have coverage only for one that both qualifies as "critical" and causes death. You do not have coverage if you survive of if you die of an illness that isn't considered "critical".

If you need life insurance, then get life insurance that covers all death (with the possible exceptions of suicide and war). If you need coverage for all illness and injuries, get health insurance.

Do not get critical illness life insurance unless you only need to help the person selling it make more money.

Right...I'm figuring he means a straight up critical illness policy or a life policy with a critical illness rider.  Regardless, it's not what Stephen is portraying.  There is no life policy that only pays out from a critical illness.  That doesn't exist, so it's clearly not that.

What John said.  It doesn't cover injury.

A critical illness insurance policy covers the insured against life-threatening critical illnesses such as cancer, heart attack, renal failure etc. This insurance policy provides coverage in the form of a lump sum at the time of diagnosis of a covered illness.
