Native English speakers, could you please yhelp me with these issues?

1. Are these sentences correct:

a) "Her speech appealed to the youth."

b) "She appealed to the youth."

2. By the way, would the following sentence make sense:

"She appealed the youth..."

If so, what's the difference in meaning between both?

3. Is this sentence correct:

"She's less 5 years old than me."

    1 is a

2 makes sense but the context make it such, that it has a totally different meaning than 1a

3 is "She's 5 years less old than me"

For #3 you wouldn't say She's 5 years less old than me. Normally said/written is:

She's 5 years younger than me.
