Weekly Cough/wheezing?

Every spring, I get allergies and will have to take an allergy medicine to stop the coughing, runny nose, sneezing, etc. Although for the past few months I still with have allergy like symptoms. Only now the main problem is I with have a coughing fit about once a week. In between coughs there wheezing too in can last for a half hour and my doctor gave me a inhaler for it but it still not going away with time. Any ideas of what is going on? I’ve never had my allergy season last this long. Neither have I ever had Asthma. I’ve been debating going to the doctors, but if I can save the money I prefer that.

Allergies can come at any time of the year. I am allergic to my cat. Take antihistamines daily and see how you go.
