    Nothing can move thru space faster than light. But space itself can expand faster than light.

    Okay let's say that there is a rocket ship it's traveling 20000 miles an hour and it shines a light. The light is traveling now at the speed of light plus the 20 thousand miles an hour.

      No, actually as you move faster time slows down to prevent this from happening. If you are moving at the speed of light there is no time for you. This is caused by general relativity.

    Well, nothing that we know of.

    But a 'tachyon' is any hypothetical particle that can travel faster than the speed of light.

    We've just never discovered any and have no idea if they exist at all.
