How do you get into the boot or BIOS menu for a windows 10 Acer Aspire E 17?
- Laurence ILv 71 month ago
because windows now handles the bios settings you will have an acer app to change the settings. you may still have some control to allow starting the recovery partition but acer usually have an alt-f11 key sequence which also has an enable disable alt f11 option in the bios, so that wont work if its disabled. pressing F2 enters most bios settings for most pc's. it only works in first 2 secs after pressing ON button. There is one other keyboard sequence usually allowed and thats the boot intercept menu F12. this allows to manually choose a boot drive(if you cant do it any other way) so you can start a usb stick or cd which is NOT currently 1st in the boot order. all key presses only work in the first 2 secs after pressing the ON button.

F2,F10 and DEL key. Try these. One of this might work

Depends on your bios version, F2 and DEL key together.
Ctrl + Alt + Esc. on some older machines.
You can reset booting settings by holding F10 til you hear 2 beeps.
From power on, you have to give the time for bios to load the keyboard interface or you get a KB error.
Still have to beat the Win 10 bootstrap.

The most common ways are to hit either the F2, F12, or Delete key when you first see the BIOS booting up. Usually you'll see a statement early in the boot up that tells you which keys to hit.

Try F2, F12, F8 or Delete. Whichever one you choose, keep pressing it about once every half second.
