Is Catholicism the true version of Christianity because it has the majority of people?

All others then must be false because they aren’t the majority.

No. Catholicism is equally as much bullshit as any other flavor of christianity.

High numbers do not make something always true

Let's say we have 100 people voting on something, 99 says it is OK, but yet the 1 person out of a 100 may be correct, so numbers mean nothing.

No. If it is true, it will have the structure, doctrines, authority, and saving ordinances that existed in the church Christ established, and will be led by revelation, the necessary foundation of apostles and prophets built up on the chief corner stone of Jesus Christ.

None of it is true but Catholicism is more traditional since it has been around almost since the beginning of Christianity whereas Protestants are the new kids on the block. Before Catholicism, there was no real form or structure to Christianity, just a bunch of people following random books since the books are not all collected and canonized yet, with many of those books being tossed out and ordered to be destroyed. Luckily not all were.

The Bible actually speaks about the majority of people would be on the road headed for destruction.

Matthew 7:13 Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.

    Argumentum ad populum

Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge." (Romans 3:4)

  • Jesus promised that the Gates of Hell would not prevail against his Church.  80% of the worldwide followers of Jesus Christ are members of the Catholic Church, or of the Eastern or Oriental Orthodox Communions whose differences with Catholicism are mainly to do with semantics and 11th or 5th century politics (my Pope's better than your Pope).

    There are two possibilities:

    1) Catholicism and the Orthodox Communions make up the Church founded by Jesus Christ.

    2) Jesus lied.

Those who believe the second can expect a (very) warm welcome in the next world.

w -- God commanded that Moses have "graven images" made to adorn the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. And no one worships statues, icons, or crosses. Educate yourself.

Or, is it true because they rape thousands upon thousands of children

in their churches and then, protect the rapists and cover-up their crimes...

    Could that be it?

Just like Christianity must be true because so many people believe it? Of course, that's what Christians say.

Remember Catholics are only Christians when fundamentalists want to claim majority status.

No, 0.1 - Catholics claim they are the majority as an argument in their favour. Christians know that all Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants are agreed on the fundamental beliefs of Christianity as set out in the ancient Apostles' Creed.

No. Catholicism is half the true "version" of Christianity because, like the Eastern/Oriental Orthodox Christian Church, it was founded by Christ himself.
