For nachos, is jalapeño or sliced chiles better? ?

It mostly depends on personal preference. I assume by the sliced chilies, you mean chilies that are already cut, and jarred in an acidic solution. Fresh jalapenos are great for a spicy sensation without overwhelming flavours. On the other hand, sliced chilies may overpower the flavour of the other topping, unless used sparingly. My preference would be jalapenos, just because I always have some, and they do not compete with other flavours.

Personally, i like fresh jalapenos as opposed to the traditional pickled. Fresh are more spicy, have a crunch like the chips.

I don't want either one on my nachos.

The one that is better is what YOU like.

AND fyi, jalapenos are chilis..chili is Spanish for the word pepper. Saying chili peppers is like saying pepper peppers.

You can use whatever peppers you like to eat. Or even a mix of both, why not?

Neither are fine with me. I don't need spicy to make tasty nachos.
