Folder with JPGs on an external hard drive converted to Exec?
I have a relatively old WD external hard drive (model WD800U017-RCN) that I use to backup photos with. Yesterday when I was trying to open some JPG images from the hard drive, when I would click to open them, they wouldn't open, so I restarted my computer (a 2017 MacBook Pro running Mojave version 10.14.6) with the external hard drive still connected. After restarting and re opening the external drive, the folder I was trying to open photos from had been converted into an Exec file, opening the Terminal when clicked. Only that one folder out of 23 total has been converted to the Exec file. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to recover my photos?
