What would be different for humans without our little bridge between nostrils (basically having just one big opening) ?

    Other than a appearance nothing if we had just one big nose hole weed look different but we'd still be able to breathe and smell

    All mammals have that division, it lets air go into each sinus, we have them on both sides of our face, as do all mammals.

    Remember that mammals develop bilaterally in the uterus.

    That would make for a larger nostril opening, and that means debris and dust can get in more easily if the opening remains large. That in turn means we may be more susceptible to lung damage by inhaling large dust particles.

    The bridge gives the structure support, keeping the opening open and from collapsing. There are animals with unusual noses. Dolphins have a single port as a nose.
