In fact, 58 vegans, or 27 percent, were already doing so. One vegetarian was also feeding their pet a vegan diet. ... Dogs are what is known as facultative carnivores, which means they can technically survive on a plant-based diet if need be

Sensible ones do, it's about meat being necessary or not, if it is necessary then it is, if a carnivorous animal doesn't get meat it would die. Just like vegans don't leave headlice crawling in their hair, they must kill them. The question is if it's necessary or not, it's not hypocrisy, it would be unvegan to not rescue and give a home to a cat just because it must eat meat.

    • But cat food is a by product of the human meat industry. It's hypocrisy in a pouch.

Yeah. Food for carnivorous pets aren't generally for humans anyway.

    • Animal feed including meat is a by product, if everyone was vegan, no meat will be available.
