why do you need doors on a gas fireplace?

    to keep the fireplace from sucking all the air out of the room. ..so it is always cold in the room as the cold air is coming from another room...to feed the fire.

    Why do "YOU" need DOORS on a gas fireplace ?

    "I" do not NEED nor have DOORS on my gas fire place

    I have no Small Children or flame curious pets

    that would get injured from contact with a gas fueled flame

    Glass doors are recommended in WOOD LOG BURNING Fireplaces

    due to burning wood logs produce flying SPARKS

    Primarily to prevent the gas odours from seeping through the room or house. Very unhealthy.

    To keep flammable tings from accidentally getting into contact with the heat from the fireplace and causing a house fire. And to keep pets and children out.

    so the carbon monoxide doesn't get in from the fireplace

      a door wont keep CO in unless its completely air tight, which they arent
