How can I start a mushroom infestation?

So I basically want to have wild mushrooms aggressively growing in a large part of my private estate (for film/ photography reasons). How would I go about doing this?

Mushrooms & similar fungi grow on dead and rotting plant material.

Old roots from dead trees and shrubs are a common source of such material where they grow naturally.

The only way I can think of to artificially create that type of environment is something like a large quantity of chipped waste wood, dusted with mushroom spores and dug in to the soil.

Then spread more mushroom spores at the appropriate time each year until they take hold.

Note that the actual "mushroom plant" is underground, it's composed of interlinked fibres called mycelium.

The visible mushrooms are just the fruit of the underground plant.
