If you want your negative thoughts to be prevented, you should weigh up what Jesus said about praying.
He said to address God as "Our Father in Heaven". If you don't believe that, you cannot pray that.
That is to be followed by praying that God's name (reputation - all that He stands for) be revered (hallowed).
Next He said to ask for God's Kingdom to come, for God's will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Only after due worship and reverence starts our prayers should we then ask for things for ourselves.
Like "daily bread", and to be forgiven "as we forgive" others. Then to be led not into temptation, and to be delivered from evil.
Jesus made the point that "If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." (Matthew 6:5-15)
Study those 10 verses in the Bible and you will see that you have to sort some things out before you get to prayer. Do you even know what is required for God to become your heavenly Father? (Jesus explained how in John chapter 3.) Are you prepared to forgive all people who seem to give rise to your hatred, anger and desire for revenge? Will you do as Jesus commanded, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other [material necessities] will be added to you"?
If you pray just to get positive benefits for yourself, you would do better to go to self-improvement classes. At least, then, you would not be mocking God with prayers that are not foremost about Him, but only about yourself.
