There are entire college degrees devoted to this. Carbon fiber, ceramic, boron fiber, and Kevlar will all require a small book to cover. Glass fiber is almost infinite in it's variations and combinations. The combination of two materials makes it a "composite". Even metal composites exist. Both ferrous and non-ferrous. You need to sign up for some structural engineering courses. There isn't enough room here to list the subjects.
