Depends which part of the world you are asking about, or are prepared to move to in order to be paid very highly. That sort of part of the world might have a very hot climate, or be run by a regime not in the slightest democratic.

Important to realise that degrees are nothing special in themselves. If money is what you are after, an English dergree can give you access to a career in law or accountancy, but you really do have to earn it.

It depends on what skills you have. And where you want to develop yourself.

An English degree is dubious, unfortunately.

You can be an editor or author.

It's not that easy. Many companies are hiring English majors- who have been hired at a faster rate than Engineering majors for the past 10-15 years because companies appreciate good communication skills. Law schools recruit English majors. But it depends what you can do and what you like. People with social media experience and expertise can become the social media manager for many companies. Others become technical writers or editors.
