Assuming that the shooting range is flat and with a uniform gravity field and no air resistance, the range of a projectile launched with specific initial conditions will have a predictable range and it is calculated by this equation. This, of course, is a lab situation and things like air resistance, wind, mass and aerodynamics of the projectile and other variables must be included in the final equation.

What is formula for when I shoot a catapult that shoots horizontally. I know the height the catapult shoots off and the m/s of the projectile but I need to find out where the projectile will land?
