What happens if I quit working for Walmart after 17 years? What happens to my benefits?

Ask the HR Department.

You should ask your human resources department.

After 17 years of working for them, you really really (really) don't know what your benefits are??

You would lose your health plan. You would retain your pension but might have to wait until a certain age to start collecting payments.

Your 401k is yours, but obviously Walmart won't be making any more contributions to it. You can keep your insurance for a limited time through COBRA, but you would have to pay the premiums out of your own pocket.
Any other benefits you have stop when your employment stops.

If you've paid into some sort of retirement plan, you won't lose those benefits. You will lose your health insurance.
