Yes it is okay to do that. Some passengers feel better handing it to the workers.

Let autopay do it unless you want to tip more or less.

Why would you want to do that? My advice is to accept whatever system the purser and staff captain have decided to operate.

Wally & Mrs. ALWAYS tip EXTRA (early on) for the cabin steward and extra for our waiter / wine steward.

How do you tip all the hard working crew members who work behind the scenes and you never see?

    No.

There are many people behind the scenes who get a portion of your daily HSC - it doesn't just all go to the room stewards and waiters, although many of them do fulfill multiple roles on board.  You would be totally stiffing those that you don't see but work just as hard

No. here's the problem. A lot of the people responsible for your experience on the cruise are people you never see, and you're unlikely to tip them. We always leave a tip for our room stewards and wait staff in the dining room on top of the auto tip. These are people from 3rd world countries who work like dogs on cruise ships to support their families. They wait on relatively affluent Americans who get cheap about the tips, which in my opinions is really disgusting.

No. Because if you remove the daily charges you are stiffing people behind the scene who are directly impacting your cruise experience

Well, if it's an option, sure. However, many cruises are doing automatic gratuity and may not let you do that.

Yes, if they allow you to.
