Why do people hate nuclear energy?

It is the most clean form of energy we have right now and we barely use it? green energy is good. are people just paranoid about it? coal plants are so much worse!

It is only clean because they are still storing all the spent fuel they have ever used. They haven't actually found a way of disposing of it safely.

Lets hope the generations in the next 20,000 years are still looking after it.

In the last world war both sides were throwing every evil thing they could at each other. Do you think they would stop and think - oh, we don't want to pollute their land and make it uninhabitable? Nope - that would probably be the FIRST thing they would use.

One reason why Fission was not funded is because it doesn't make plutonium as a byproduct for the military use - and they get that FREE funded by your fuel bill.

Yes - support the nuclear industry and you are supporting nuclear weapon production.

It's extremely expensive and in a capitalistic society it's inherently unsafe as businesses try to cut corners to make money.

There is absolute No safe limit of exposure for radiation and the governments are rising the "limit" every time an accident occures - now, the limit is over 10000 times higher than in the beginning. You will not find informations in the Internet - you have to check these numbers in old books.

Recent proposed nuclear plants have been anything but cost effective. Even existing ones do not produce inexpensive power and how we would clean up old plants is really unknown. Hanford is a giant sinkhole trying to clean that place up.
