It does not turn around in the water. both the front and rear have ramps for foot traffic and for vehicle traffic. While boats can turn around, the vehicles they are carrying cannot. So cars drive on front first. At the other stop, they drive off front first.

On a single ended ferry you have to back on the ferry so you can drive off the same end you backed on to the ferry. On a double end you drive on one end park. Then drive of the other end.

One that you drive on one end and drive off the other end. The boat doesn't have to turn around to dock and load or unload.

A ferry that you drive in on one end and drive out the other end. Usually used for river or channel crossings where there isn't room to turn around and back into a berth on the other side.
