A pizza recipe I’m using calls for 2 and 1/4 tsp of active yeast, can I use the same amount of instant yeast or bread machine yeast?

Active and instant are the same. Rapid rise is a bit different but can all be used interchangeably.

Any yeast will work. The texture *might* be slightly different. But I'm sure the result will be edible and very yummy. I just lerv home made pizza.
