Because Sprite costs more and for many people getting covered in Sprite would ruin their whole day's fun at the park?

Sugar in Sprite is sticky. Better Vodka...

The carbonation potentially could corrode certain metals and the sugar in the drink would precipitate as heat made the liquid evaporate. That sugar would then - literally - gum up the gears.

because they'd be liable for legal claims for tooth decay. "I spent a day at your theme park and now my teeth are rotting"

If Sprite is used, people will get sticky

Carbonation goes away quickly, and leaves a sticky sweet or diet water that costs much more than regular water.

And it must be filtered clean and pumped--water is better for that.

Source(s): Worked on rides at Six Flags Over Texas long, long time ago. One was the famous La Salle's Mississippi adventure, the other was the Haunted Cave. Both had lots of water, no Sprite or Sierra Mist or 7 UP.
