I haven't played it for about 60 years, but you are trying to use it as a metaphor for ... well, something. The PREDICTION of global warming is just that. Scientists looked at data and noticed that IF the present trend continues, ... the Earth will warm, polar ice caps will melt, glaciers will melt, ocean levels will rise, etc, .. But they also gave a course of action to slow or stop this from happening.
== Things have changed. More people are driving electric cars or electric/gas hybrids. China has started building solar panels to stop the use of coal for electricity and they are building large 'batteries' to provide extra electricity when clouds are out and at night. === Some people are taking GLOBAL WARMING seriously and maybe their actions have started slowing the buildup of greenhouse gases so the warming effect has slowed down. So the PREDICTIONS might need to be modified.
Just because the Statue of Liberty isn't up to her knees with ocean water does not mean that these predictions are wrong. Unlike gravity, which has an exact equation that rocks fall with an acceleration of 32 ft/sec squared, there is no exact equation for global warming ... if other things change then the warming effect can slow or speed up.
=== Global Warming deniers are the one wanting to play games. Do nothing and blame others, and in 50 years they will be dead and no one can blane them anyway.
