Of course, each hair is made of many, many cells. ("Dead protein" cells, but still...)

Yes. There are maybe a few million hairs on the body, while the average adult body contains in the range of 100 trillion cells. Even if humans were completely covered in fur like the mighty monkey, cells would still greatly outnumber hairs.

There are about 5 million hair follicles on the adult human body and men have a few hundred thousand more than women. These follicles are distributed fairly evenly throughout the body, with the exception of our hairless palms and soles.

These hairs are made of dead cells.

There are approximately 30-40 trillion cells in an average man

So yes, there are more cells than hairs on your body.

And what would ever make you mathematically think opposite?

    Yes. Trust him.

Hairs themselves are made of many (mostly dead) cells.

He is right, our entire body is made of cells, your skin which is the largest organ is made out of "skin cells"
