How did chickens know to lay aborted eggs for human consumption?

Otherwise, what purpose would they serve? Thank you

They don't lay aborted eggs - so they don't even teach basic biology in school anymore (or you didn't bother to pay attention).

Chickens lay unfertilized eggs (eggs that the rooster didn't fertilize).

Woot woot, I guessie you gotz em, cupcake! Theyz never figure out eggs need to be fertilized furst afore they can hatchie hatchie the chicks and stuff. Woot woot, you got em good, baby.

    Failed biology, huh?

Thats what happens when there is no rooster to fertilize the egg. If the egg is fertilzed it will turn into a chicken.

Chickens lay unfertilized eggs for human consumption, just like every month a human female who's not pregnant releases an unfertilized egg.

Yes the difference being the human version is the product of death and bloody decay

    Not aborted.

    Unfertilized.

    For the same reason

that some bananas, oranges and watermelons

grow fruit that contains no fertile seeds.

    Artificial selection.

    Humans guided the evolution

    of these species

    to our own ends.

Chickens when roosters and hens are together will lay fertilized eggs which can hatch into chicks

Chickens that are raised for meat or eggs are all hens. Hens will lay eggs usually every day when it is the season fertilised or not. It is a feature of a chickens internal plumbing.

They aren't "aborted eggs", they are generally unfertilized eggs, although occasionally some fertilized ones will get passed the screening process.

Not aborted, silly. Unfertilized, in most cases.

Ever heard one lay an egg? They do it for the rush.
