The universe is ignorance personified and an illusion, and illusion is finite but expanding ad infinitum.

Ignorance is the absence of knowledge.

But it can also be unlimited, if you teach myths as if they were facts.

By definition, ignorance is limited by a lack of facts or information. Belief isn't as limited as it may accept an idea that isn't provable as true. Fantasy is closely linked to belief as there are accepted ideas as true but may split through interpretation. Then there is the split between nonsense and gibberish. Nonsense applies some sense but gibberish never has to.

Knowledge is relative. Ignorance is as well. “Unlimited” is an absolute . So I question the validity of your basic premise.

If knowledge was unlimited, everything would be known. If ignorance was unlimited, nothing would be known. Things are known, but not everything.

The saying 'You can't reason with stupid' definitely endorses the idea that there is no limit to ignorance.

You can't have the good without the bad... or the savior without the evil.

We wouldn't need a "savior" if there is no evil.
