It will be a challenge, and take much work, for your relationship to stay together. Once he has graduated boot camp, he might get a several week leave and then have to go off to some advanced training for his specialty. That will probably take him away from you for several months. Then another short leave, and they will send him away to some other post or base. Unless he is an officer or sergeant grade, and you are married, you won't get housing benefits. You won't be allowed to live with him on post or base. And following him around will require you to find work to support yourself. His pay, unless he is an officer, won't be enough to cover living expenses. And when they deploy him overseas, which they will inevitably do, you will be stuck at home. You might visit via skype, but how often will that be when he is tied up with work 16 hours a day? Your relationship will be strained and likely won't last.
