If God is to listen to our prayers, we much be repentant of our bad ways and turn to doing good. We must forgive all who have done anything to hurt us and try to make amends with them. Jesus tells us at Matthew 5:23-24: "If, then, you are bringing your gift to the altar and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar, and go away. First make peace with your brother, and then come back and offer up your gift." The Bible says that God does not listen to all prayers.--Proverbs 28:9; Isaiah 1:15--As Jehovah's Witnesses go to preach from door to door as Jesus did, most do not listen to our message of the good news. We know that choices have been made and we do not force anyone to listen to us, but bid them well. We are not out in our ministry to debate or argue with our neighbors. As for those who listen, and read for themselves in the Bible how their questions are answered, see the light of truth, that makes us happy. These are the ones Jesus told his followers to look for and help spiritually. Just going to church because you feel the need does not make you a true Christian. A true Christian is one who follows Christ as their model.--1Peter 2:21--I invite you to learn more about what the Bible teaches from the international website, www.jw.org and Bible Teachings > Bible Questions Answered.
