Typically it's either an hourly price or they just charge you however much they want for the tattoo. If it ranges from $150-$450 , that is taking into account the hourly fee. If it is really detailed, it will take longer which means more money. If it isn't as detailed then it will cost less because it will take less. They are not two separate fees, however, some shops require you to make a deposit before your tattoo to ensure you will be there for your appointment. That money goes towards the price. For example, if a tattoo is $400 , and they want a $100 deposit, you give them the $100 when you set your appointment, and then you only pay $300 once the tattoo is done. Hope that made sense.
