Mary can travel 14 miles in one hour. Half of that (7 miles) will take her a half-hour.

14 miles for 1 hour
so 7 miles for 30 minutes

D = st
t = D/s
t = (7 miles) /(14 miles/hour)
t = 0.5 hours or 30 minutes... answer//

14 miles in 1 hour, so,
7 miles in half an hour, because,
7 is half of 14.

Here's the correct method
Given 7 miles, start there, then multiply by converters
7 miles (1 hour/14 miles)
the miles top and bottom cancel, leaving hours
= 7/14 hr = 1/2 hour
1/2 hour (60 minures/1 hour) = 30 minutes

constant speed = distance / time
14 = 7 / time
14 * time = 7
time = 7/14
time = 0.5, or half an hour.
Hope that helps!
