I try not to let teachers influence me. You can't keep your essential being when you're influenced.

A supplement teacher i had for about 2 months in late elementary school.

Only teacher who truly tried to help me, and it did not hurt this one replaced one of most egoistical scumbags i ever had.

Alas the help did not last and the scum returned so i ended up drifting back into not even trying again. Thats depression for you - nothing that seems like help ever lasts, i always fall after decent times, it just hurts more the better the times are.

    Good question.

The most influential teachers were those who treated me with respect,

who were good in leading and sometimes disciplining the class,

who were encouraging the class and the individual pupils/students

who were giving confidence in their abilities and strengths

who makes you reflect upon what you are doing and saying

who gives you tasks to let you find out things/knowledge by yourself (hence gaining experience or excitement through discovery (and in turn through achievement and failure))

and who were able to make me remember things, e.g. like answering interesting question and explaining about the background and its context.

And liking each other is still important, like in any situation of human interaction.

    9th grade world history teacher.

I was cutting class twice a week on average.

I asked him why I wasn't getting an A in his class. "It's because you're never here," he said.

I stopped cutting class. I got that A.

I never had a teacher with a positive influence. They were all indifferent.

I hear ya! Our guidance counselors told us that GIRLS had these choices: - nurse, teacher, bookkeeper, Mommy, nun. Well, I *did* teach school music for 25 years plus - because it paid the bills while I worked up a great professional classical music business and performing career.

The one who asked "what time is it" in class

And I said "it's howdy doody time" it was an

Old tv slogan or advertising phrase of the

Howdy doody show back in the early 1960's.

The other kids busted out laughing and the

Teacher was speechless. She was trying to

Boss us around and used a bad question.

It was a comedy opening none of the other

Kids seen or remembered. As it was in the

    1970's already.
