What God wants us to know about His thoughts are written down in the Bible. If you want to know what God thinks, study His statements as written down in the Bible.
You will not hear any voice from Heaven responding to your prayers to God, when you voice your appreciation and love of God. But it is possible to feel something of the love of God when you genuinely adore Him. As said to Christians in Romans 5:5, even when suffering for the cause of Christ, their "hope does not disappoint, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."
Also, in Galatians 4:6 is the assurance, "Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying 'Abba, Father'. He prompts your praise, and assures you of the love of your heavenly Father (Romans 8:15-27. Soak up those scriptures and believe the promises.
After all, Jesus Himself told His disciples that after He returned to Heaven, another Counsellor would be sent to them to be with them forever - the Spirit of Truth, which the world cannot accept "because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans... He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him." (John 14:13-27) Study the whole section there. Be assured. Be comforted - you are a beloved, spiritually adopted child of God. He is your heavenly Father, and those verses show that the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father are lovingly indwelt in the hearts of those who obey the Son.
Study the scriptures, learn the promises and believe them in faith as you do what the scriptures instruct Christians to do. Your heart will not condemn you and you will know the peace of God that passes all understanding.
