>>Is the human race ready for contact?
Maybe some individuals are... but not society.
>>What will people feel when touching another living being that is very
>>different from earth’s creatures?
We don't know if they'll be that different... We literally have no idea. They could be man-sized insects, they may appear to be only a bit different... we simply don't know. If they're *alerted* to the meeting... it may be similar to what we see in movies - two cautious creatures approaching each other (hopefully, in peace). But, if they simply show up on your front lawn, out of the blue - then... I'd expect a much more anxious reaction.
>>Will people be able to trust their extrasensory capabilities enough to allow communication?
I know I don't have any capabilities like that, so... I hope hand signals & body language would be enough in that event.
>>What do people have to offer to the visitors?
That's a hard question to answer... I wouldn't assume drinks or foods would be offered, as we have no idea of their chemistry. Maybe gifts of plants...? Musical instruments? I would assume a species approaching another in peace would offer small, well-meaning trinkets at first.
And - if they *aren't* here in peace, then... we're going to be in trouble.
