Why would a doctor not accept any insurance plans? This is, he is strictly cash only.?
He has great reviews and partners with two others surgeons at the same location that accept many different plans.

he does not want to deal with the paperwork and could be evading recording income and income tax.
however, you should get a receipt for your payment and file a copy of the receipt with your insurance in order to get reimbursement. just because he does not accept insurance does not mean that you can't try to get reimbursed from your insurance carrier as soon as possible.

This shouldn't be allowed, because I bet the Dr. isn't paying all he is supposed to in taxes. I wouldn't personally go to a Dr. who would only accept cash. It's a shame so much does have to be done with these insurance companies who are ruling the roost with everyone's healthcare. They make decisions over Drs. & they never went to school to become a Dr. It's a disgrace. This county has the most broken healthcare system. It's a crying shame something hasn't been done about it long ago.

If he is cash only, then he does not except insurance from anyone. It takes time to be paid and they argue the price as well. So I can not blame him. There is no law saying that a Doctor has to accept any Insurance Plan: NONE AT ALL!

Maybe because insurance doesn't pay their practice enough if they're really expensive. That sucks though because not everyone has cash to pay a surgeon.

Some doctors have built up a customer base where they don't need to deal with insurance and the paperwork hassles.

Doesn't want the delays, aggravation and arguments. He's apparently good enough that he can have that as his policy

Because he has enough patients that he doesn't need to fart around with the insurance companies that are pains in the butt.

We have one like that in my town. They don't want to wait for payment & have some of it written off. They should give you the forms to file your insurance on your own & you will get reimbursed for whatever amount the insurance covers. This way they don't have to pay people to do their billing for them.

He wants to charge what he wants to charge and doesn't want to deal with the paperwork hassle and waiting to get paid.

That particular doctor doesn't care to bother fighting with insurance companies. Their time is better spent seeing patients and if they are that good, they simply charge up front. Then, that person can send an out-of-network bill to their company and see about reimbursement.
They feel that their time and effort is worth more then the rates insurance companies might be willing to pay them. I know a bunch of doctors like this, lots of the top therapists do this as well. This doesn't work unless people have lots of extra money...and there are lots of those people. So, large cities or destination hospitals.
Plenty of doctors wont treat Medicaid patients due to the low rates paid.
