A country can have an official religion but otherwise is a geographic entity. Only people have religion. A country isn't a person.

At least these countries and should be more have no state sponsored religion:

United States, Australia, Canada, People's Republic of China, India, New Zealand, France, Japan, Columbia, Chile, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, East Timor, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Philippines, Portugal, Republic of China, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Republic of Turkey

All countries have significant religious populations. However, the degree of influence religion has over the country varies wildly. For example, in many European and Scandinavian countries, religion isn't viewed as important and most people either are non-practicing or are atheists. Other countries, like the USA or the MIddle Eastern countries, religion is still a major factor.

None. All countries (even atheistic nations) have religion.

Economic prosperity negatively correlates with religion (i.e. countries with greater poverty have more religion). So, the most "wretched" countries tend to be very religious.

Modern-day communist countries like China and Vietnam have a lot of atheists.

Most former communist countries also have a lot of atheists like Czechia, Russia and the Baltics.

Usually communist countries prohibit religion. However, that doesn't mean people stop practicing religion or believing in God. No one can take away what you have in your heart and mind.

Many countries do not have an official religion including the USA. People in these countries are free to believe (or not) whatever they want.
