You need to learn that there is a lot more behind a logo than just a drawing. Most good logo designers write 10-25 pages about the logo explaining, in detail what it means, and why it represents the business. If you cannot think up a meaning, and make a case for your logo, then it is just a drawing.
Just about every gen Y, or later, wants the title "designer". It is just a title, and really means nothing.
Look at many of the iconic logos like "Next", "IBM", "Dell", "Starbucks". Each one has a story, and every last detail is thought out (font, color, texture, and so on).
