There are no "winners" and there are no "losers". We all end up exactly the same - dying by ourselves. It makes no difference if we die surrounded by family and fans, if we are lost in a cave, or if we perish at the same time as two hundred others in a plane crash. Every death is a solitary experience - not a shared one. Nobody wins. Nobody loses.
Pay isn't everything. If you can meet your basic needs and put a little away for your later years, then you're doing just fine. The real issue is WHY ARE YOU LIVING? There isn't much you can do about needing food, needing water, needing sleep, needing the toilet. There are actually very few things you can effectively do anything about...EXCEPT you have a choice of whether or not to enjoy life. (MOST of us have that choice, anyway.) So when you get down to it, the only answer there can be to WHY ARE YOU LIVING is "To enjoy life."
All you have to do is figure out how to best do that, rather than wishing that you could go back in time and start all over again. If you don't know how to enjoy life, starting over would do you no good anyway.
