Hobbyist gamer = Might only play for upto 2 or 3hrs a day before calling it quits to do more important things like work / school / washing / shaving / cooking dinner / cleaning the house / eating properly, etc.

Addicted gamer = Plays every possible waking moment until they pass out (see occasional stories in the weird news section of gamers in Asia staying on so long they died of a stroke from lack of sleep)..... neglect work/school/college.... eat at the PC/Console.... breaks into a cold sweat like a drinker/smoker going cold turkey when ability to game taken away from them.

For similar ideas of excessive gaming symptoms, watch the excellent "South Park" episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" (Season 10, Episode 8) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgvTgV5EoGY

The person that is addicted has a gaming addiction, the other person is just a gamer.

Real world consequences are rarely a negative way.

    More than 2 options.
