I received a Lexicon MC8 knowing nothing about it previously. What s easiest way to test if it works? Hook it up to Yamaha HTR or computer?

Its a surround Pre-amp / surround processor. Of course, you hook it up to a raw surround amplifier or five mono-block amplifiers, so on, and see if it works. If you do not know what it is, or what a pre-amplifier is, sell it to someone who can use it. Receivers already have a preamp /processor built onto them. Its a piece of audiophile gear for users who have discreet component based surround systems, or are building one.

VERY EASY -Connect a pair of headphones to the headphone jack - turn it on - connect an FM antenna - select "tuner" - tune across the FM band until you get a station - listen. It probably works great. The original price was $6000.
