Sperm are animal cells that fertilize female animal cells called ova. Ovules are plant cells, so sperm don't fertilize them.

A bunch of them give everything to break through the protective coating so the one lucky sperm cell can combine its chromosomes with the eggs' chromosomes.

One. But it must be a strong one who never

Gives up. Lots of sperm just get lost of run

Out of energy trying to get in the egg.

Only one little swimmer!. But.... Sperm need to grow strength like everything else.

So if you've emptied you're load too often, sometimes none of them have grown the strength to swim all that way.

A little fact I learnt when I was trying for a child 😂

It only takes one to get through. But out of millions of them only one of them survives to get there!
