Rather than sit and wallow in your own self pity, why not take control of your life and make choices that will result in some of your goals?
The people I know who are alone and have no one find themselves in those circumstances because of the choices they have made. If they are depressed or have social anxiety, they need either and or therapy or medication to help them cope. Not many people want to spend time with a depressed person.
You have to take the initiative to be a star in your own life. No one is going to pop out of the woodwork and keep you company or make you happy, that is all on you.
So, how do you do that? You get involved in your own life rather than sit home alone. Check out what is happening in your town or nearby towns. There is always something going on. There are always volunteers needed for community events. Volunteer your time. Join a club. Go participate or be a spectator in a sport. In every local newspaper, there is a list of events.
Go to a museum if you enjoy art. Or, take a painting or pottery class. If you enjoy cooking, grow a vegetable or herb garden or perhaps join a community garden. Take a cooking class if you wish to improve your cooking skills. If you like jewelry, why not learn how to bead and go to craft shows? If you collect anything, immerse yourself in it and seek out others who enjoy the same.
If you do not like your job, find another one. If you want to earn more money, improve your skills. Perhaps take an adult education course to help you along. Force yourself to go on interviews to see if you even are interested in a particular new job. You may even earn more money if you just engage in a part time job to occupy your time.
When was the last time you changed your hair style? When was the last time you added a bright accessory to your wardrobe? Take an objective look at yourself in the mirror. There is always room for improvement. Sometimes people get too comfortable with a blah style. Change it up.
By doing some of these things, you will improve your self esteem. By doing so, you will be noticed and by engaging in things you like, you will be among like-minded people who have common interests where you will make friends and maybe even find romance. However, if you stay home and do nothing, nothing will ever change. You must break the mold of your life to remold your life.
Go to Netflix and watch "Secret Attraction". This is simply a technique where you use mind over matter to attract what you want in your life. The way you think deeply effects what is around you and how your life unfolds. You will learn gratitude when you realize how lucky you really are. I was so inspired by this one girl who was born with no arms, yet she was an excellent swimmer and excelled because she refused to allow her armless body define who she wasn't.
Mind over matter is a very powerful tool and I implore you to just change the way you think and what will follow will surprise you. There is two ways of thinking, one negative and one positive. Turn everything into a positive thought and good things will follow. For instance, if you have ever watched an Anti-War rally, you will see mad people with ugly signs and carrying on with hateful words and postures. It does nothing but evoke tension and more distain. On the other hand, if you are watching a Peace Rally, you will see people chilling and keeping their cool as they demonstrate a calm way against war. Both rallies have the same core belief system but the difference in how they portray themselves are worlds apart: one is hateful and negative while the other is peaceful and loving.
So, what is it going to be for you? Are you going to allow negative thoughts to take over your life in loneliness or are you going to think positively and go out and find your happiness? You do have a choice. Pick one.
